A day in Huntsville...

Harleys uncles are in town from Florida helping Judy get some projects done at the house. We decided to take the kids up there to visit and hang out with the family...

Behind the house is this small pasture with four horses in it. I don't particularly care for horses but, the kids really wanted to see them and get a feel for what these horses are all about.

Turns out they're pretty tame and want you to feed them...a lot!

I get nervous around them but, the things you do for your children! It's amazing how no matter how afraid you might be of something you act strong for your children...they truly help you find strength in yourself you may otherwise never knew you had.

If you've never visited the park in Hunstville you should! It's awesome! Tennis courts, volley ball courts, soccer fields, and a huge FUN playground for kids...& adults! I got my swing on a time or two while the kids ran around :)

Kids are so fun. They help 'simplify' life for you and do you a huge favor in doing so.

Cash literally could not get high enough on these swings. He kept yelling at me to push him 'higher! higher, mom!' :) Sweet Cash. So soft spoken yet gets into much trouble! He drank some cinnamon home fragrance oil a couple of weeks ago and we treated ourselves to the ER in an ambulance ;) He's totally fine he just aspirated some of the oil and we had to stay for a 5 hour observation. He needs 4 sets of eyes on in CONSTANTLY! I don't know how I'm going to keep up with that kid...

Meyer LoVe

We had pictures done in April in the cherry orchards on the east Layton bench
.

I LOVE the ones I've seen so far...

Lately it feels like time has moved so fast...

Cash repeats everything we say and then some :)
He forms complete sentences and is so full of things to say.

Avery is quite possibly the most beautiful thing I've ever seen.
I know I'm bias but can't help it :)

Cash and I both have been sick these last few days. It's been hard dealing with everything by myself while Harley's been away. You never really realize how much you miss and love something until it's gone for a while :(
.
.
Today The Meyer family is burying Leos ashes in Nebraska.
I really wanted to be there but, current circumstances wouldn't allow it.
Leo was one of the greatest men I've ever known...or that a lot of people have ever known. I feel privileged to be married to his son who is one of the kindest, loyal people I know...
Life teaches us lessons all the time...I think sometimes we need to take a step back and focus on what's going on around us in that moment and just enjoy what's being placed before us. Whether it' something that's bringing us joy or sorrow every moment is a gift and given to us for a reason no matter what emotion is attaching itself to it.

.
'Through humor, you can soften some of the worst blows that life delivers. And once you find laughter, no matter how painful your situation might be, you can survive it.' -Bill Cosby
.
I Love that quote.
.
I believe in it.
.
After working in health care for 7 years I can attest to the power of laughter and know that time is the only thing that can bring us to find laughter in the most awful situations.
Time is a gift....that brings us to the point we can look back on things and laugh :)

Avery turns 4!!!

This little girl is so stubborn and strong willed she tries my patience every day...
.
.
.
And I can't help but love her more and more every day...
.
.

Avery is truly a blessing. She's learning so much every day I want time to slow down.
She loves learning and loves helping her brother learn.
.
.

We took the kids to the Treehouse Museum for some fun yesterday.
Avery was so excited to build these blocks after another kid knocked the entire thing over...

This little girl is a dreamer ....

I see great things in her future ....

Although Avery is such a tom~boy she still likes to feel pretty :)

...and pretty she is.

Avery still loves her dinosaurs!
Her favorite is a Pteranodon....

Avery loves painting & coloring...
Her favorite color is BLUE.

Avery enjoys Lady Gaga and her favorite song is 'Born This Way'
.
Avery's favorite meal is her mamas spaghetti :)
.
Avery loves Dora & Little Einsteins.
.
She loves learning about Pirates and Sharks.
.
Avery enjoys activities that involve singing, dancing, painting, coloring, reading, swimming, listening to music, watching movies, & hanging out with her family & friends!

Happy Birthday Miss Avery! We Love YOU!!

Weird...and Weird is good :)

This is a girl after my own heart! Only Avery can pull off this look. She is so funny and I'm so fascinated by her every day. Harley comes and grabs me and silently says, 'You've gotta go upstairs and take a look at our daughter.'...
.....
She did this all by herself :)
Oh man. This kid is so creative and smart!

So, today I've been going through random pictures...

....And came across some really great ones :)
Here's Avery asleep at the dinner table. A pretty rare event if you
know anything about this little girl. She NEVER sleeps unless forced.
.
So glad I was able to capture this.

Cash on the other hand is a very good sleeper. He's done this a few times
and I finally captured it :)

This picture was taken by Grandpa Roskelley over the summer.
We were at my parents ward party of some kind...I think they were
playing softball so, we went along.

Here's our little man enjoying Grandma and Grandpa Meyers Christmas present.
He climbed under the desk I have in the kitchen and went to town.
For some reason he LOVES to climb into/under things :)

Here he is enjoying a book he and Avery got for Christmas.
I'm so glad both my kids love books as much as they do!

Today I'm great~full for the term 'starting over' I don't do New Year's
resolutions but, I'm ALWAYS starting some 'things' in life over and over :)
Whether it's remembering to have patience with my kids
or
having patience with Harley
or
myself I'm constantly picking myself up and starting again :)
It's a good thing we have that opportunity because I for one am someone
that is constantly doing it!

New Year!

So, poor Harley had to work EVERY holiday this year. That poor man totally got the shaft :(
The kids and I took him dinner to his work last night so he could
get SOME enjoyment out of New Years.
.
My family came to my house to help ring in the New Year. We had a lot of fun
eating, playing games and celebrating. Harley made it home around 11:30pm...just in time
for a New Years kiss :)....then off to bed to be back at work at 6:30 this morning.
.
I have a really good man. He works hard to provide for this family and I
am SO great~full for that!
.
Happy NEW YEAR!
