My Brother Jared

This is my brother, Jared. He came over for a bbq on the 4th of July.

Avery wasn't too sure about him at first but, of course she warmed right up to him fast...He's like a big teddy bear!

He's probably the only family member that I REALLY look like. So, that makes it nice knowing if I was adopted...so was he;}

What a handsome guy!

DUCKIES!

Harley recently took Avery to a pond to go fishing with him, his friend Phillip, and Phillips nephew. Avery LOVES playing with water, rocks and dirt. If all three are available at once, even better! As you can see the child is in heaven. She will park herself right in front of any river, pond, puddle or, lake and get right to work throwing rocks into the water-if available. Otherwise, she settles for just playing in the water.

It's funny to me that the ducks aren't more afraid of her.

No Internet is the PITS!!

Hey 'yall! Sorry we have not posted since the end of June! I had a little run in with Qwest and ended up cancelling my membership with them...anyways, we're going to be getting internet next week on Tues. horray! Then I'll be able to post all the adorable pics of Avery cuz I know that's what you people are really looking for if you visit this blog! ;) Harley's been a hard working man the last several weeks! He's been working 6 days a week-12hr days! His only day off during the weeks have been Saturdays. I on the other hand have been a homemaker these last couple months! It's taken me a while to get used to being home but, now I'm all sorts of domesticated! Avery and the dogs of course love me being home! I've started to do a lot of work on the yard and Harley loves it that I mow and today I tried fertilizing the yard!~Harley didn't even think I knew how to turn the mower on! How insulting;) So, I've never not worked outside the home. It has been very different. I read A LOT! I really miss surgery, though. Clinicals were so nerve wracking but, the truth is, there's something about being a part of something so cool! My favorite specialty in surgery was neurology and pediatric urology. Craniotomy's were my favorite type of surgery. When I was at Primarys I did a lot of urology! I hated adult urology at the U but, loved it in peds. The surgeons at Primarys were awesome-for lack of a better word. Working with babies was emotionally hard given their inocent nature but, I loved it.
Avery's been a HANDFUL lately. She's running, talking, screaming, and getting into everything. She loves books. We read every day. She's constantly bringing books to me to read to her. She's turned into a binki junkie!!! I mean JUNKIE! I have to hide the stupid thing in the cuppord where she can't see it. Funny, funny kid.
Harley's gearing up to go on a Harley ride tomorrow with Dave and possibly his dad. He's been riding it to work a lot. I'm glad that the 4 year project of puting the thing together has finally payed off. With gas prices so horrible its really a good thing. He rode it to Boise, ID las summer-that was huge for him.
Well, I have to say hello to Cam and Janica! Thanks for visiting our blog! I'm going to have to write a comment to you guys next week. Jenny, I need you to invite us into your blog so we can leave you comments!

Avery loves dirt pies!

Some friends of ours invited us to a new pool in Roy today and the place was packed!-We forgot our camera:( Avery got to wear her new swimsuit but, wasn't too sure about swimming. She mostly sat on the edge of the pool with mom and kicked her legs in the water.

When we got home we decided to have a bbq and grill some chicken so, we left the back door open for Avery to play outside because she LOVES the outdoors.

Pretty soon I hear Harley yelling "Angie! Come look! Avery's eating dirt! Hurry! Stop her!" I go outside and I get this huge muddy grin! I started to laugh so hard and grabbed the camera!

Here she is crawling towards me. Every time I tried to bend down to get a picture she took off after me! She wanted to share her mud!

Proud mom!

Here we are in the bathroom trying to get cleaned up! Avery wanted to do it herself!

Sweet as an angel!

Harleys California Trip

Harley's good friend John graduated from Berkley University last month! Congratulations!! Harley and John met when they were both serving as U.S. Marines. They've stayed close friends and support each other with major life events. Here he is arriving at Oakland airport to pick up Harley.

They went to the horse races with John's parents. Harley loved it and doesn't the landscaping look absolutely beautiful!? Ever since then that's been one of Harley's latest things besides keeping up with regular sports; he now keeps up with whats going on with the horse races.

This is John's driveway to his apartment in Berkley. Harley thought is was really cool because the landscaping in California is so different than in Utah. He thought it was very pretty and we've b
oth been in our yard since then trying to improve our yard!lol

They went to San Francisco one of the days Harley was in town.

They didn't go to Alcatraz but Harley got some really great pictures!

And of course the lovely Golden Gate bridge.

They also went to a petting zoo!!lol...Awesome

Graduation day!

Here's Harley, John, Jesse and John's little brother. Harley had such a good time visiting California and seeing his Marine Corps. buddies. They are such good guys and we just wish we all lived A LOT closer. John is driving across country to get back to North Carolina before he starts a scuba diving course in Minasota for a Civil Engineer job he has in New York. Good Luck John!!!

Avery's 1 years old!!!

Avery made it to one years old! Hooray Harley and Angie for keeping our child alive this long!!!lol Avery's birthday party was so fun for us. We had a blast having everyone come to our home to celebrate our baby's first birthday. It was a long day for this little one and she handled it like a pro!

Here she is with mom eating crackers and dip! Avery absolutely LOVES crackers!

The food was amazing! Thank you to everyone for participating and helping out with it.

It was so much fun watching Avery open her presents. She ripped the wrapping paper apart and knew exactly what to do!

Avery was in awe when everyone sang happy birthday to her! She loved the attention!

We had fudge brownies and vanilla ice cream for desert. Avery wasn't too sure that she liked it.

POOR KID!!!

Avery absolutely LOVES to see her cousins. I love watching her light up when they walk into a room. We are so glad that Stetson's feeling better and doing o.k. and made it to Avery's party. She was so glad to see him! All the kids had so much fun playing with the balloons and toys. Thank you so much to everyone. It's a birthday party I know Harley and I both will not forget. We couldn't have thought of a better present to give our daughter than surround her with so many people that love her!

So, lately Harley and I have been trying to help Avery learn to feed herself~Isn't she adorable!? Like the bib? It's one of the those that has a pocket at the bottom of it so it catches her spoon and all the food she drops.

A lot of times Avery purposely drops her food to the floor because she's convinced the dogs need to be fed as well. Here she is contemplating "should I eat this or just stick it in my hair for later?"
